Air Source Heat Pumps
Devon renewable heating specialists, Cooks Heating are based in Newton Abbot but offer the specialist design, installation services throughout the Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
Air source heat pumps, unlike ground source heat pumps, do not require any civil ground works in order to install and lay the pipes. The cost of ground works can be quite significant for ground source and this makes air source heart pumps a much more attractive option for a lot of people.
Air source heat pumps can provide a low cost alternative for heating your water and home. The financial return for air source heat pumps can be as little as 5 years.
In addition to domestic air source heat pump applications, they can also provide a hot water and comfort cooling for commercial applications.

How to do air source heat pumps work?
Air source heat pumps work by extracting heat and energy from the outside air and raises it to a higher temperature, using a similar process as reverse refrigeration. I t can extract heat from air even when the temperature is as low as - 15° C.
The tow main types of air source heating are as follows:
Air to water system - used to heat the water in your home. The heat pumps heat the water to a lower temperature than a boiler would so are much more effective when used for under floor heating than radiators.
Air to air system - this produces warm air which is circulated by fans, used to heat your home.
At Cooks Heating Devon we can install, service and maintain air source heat pumps. Contact us for more information. |
